Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Public Sanitation Worker to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for waste collection, street cleaning, and assisting in the upkeep of public facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables from public bins and designated areas.
- Clean streets, sidewalks, parks, and other public spaces using manual and mechanical tools.
- Assist in maintaining and servicing sanitation vehicles and equipment.
- Follow established safety and environmental guidelines while handling waste and cleaning chemicals.
- Report any sanitation-related issues, such as overflowing bins or illegal dumping, to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to complete daily cleaning routes efficiently.
- Provide assistance during emergency clean-up operations after storms, public events, or environmental hazards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in waste management, sanitation, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of waste disposal regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred for operating sanitation vehicles).
